CATS EXTEND WINNING STREAK

The Thunder Bay Border Cats picked up another win on the road increasing their record to 32-36 for the season with a 7-4 win over the Waterloo Bucks.

Kyle Von Ruden (Hawaii) picked up his third win of the year going eight innings allowing four runs on six hits while striking out three. Ryan Johnson (Vanderbilt) came in for the last inning to get his first save of the year pitching a hitless inning.

Both Jared James (Long Beach) and Matt Batten (Quinnipiac) picked up two runs a piece while Dan Rizzie (Xavier) was credited with the Northwood’s League Player of the Night after continuing his hit-streak to a league leading twenty one after notching two doubles on three hits and picking up four RBI’s. With the two runs on three hits James (Long Beach) takes back the top spot for batting average with .367.

The Border Cats wrap up their road trip with a two game series in Wisconsin Rapids against the Rafters with game one Thursday night at 7:05pm CST / 8:05pm EST.
