The Border Cats are proud to announce that crowds will see some familiar faces this year, as Joe Gellenbeck and Gunnar Kay will be returning to play with the team in the 2016 Season.

Gellenbeck (pictured right) is a 6’5”, 220 lbs Junior from Xavier University, and played with the Cats as an outfielder in the 2015 season. He ended the year with a batting average of .273, 67 hits, 24 RBI and 2 home runs.

Kay (pictured left) is the third Kay brother to suit up for the Border Cats, with his brother Brett and Cory leading the way before him. Kay pitched for the Cats in 2014, and then took the year off to have TJ elbow surgery.  The 6’2”, 180 lbs, right-handed pitcher is now a Junior at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Missouri. Kay left the Border Cats in 2014 with a 2-4 record.
