SANTARSIERO SIGNS WITH DODGERS

Thunder Bay, Ont. – Thunder Bay Border Cats pitcher Vinny Santarsiero (Fontbonne) has signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers as of Sunday night. After scouts watched him during his Northwoods League stint, Santarsiero was invited down to throw a bullpen in St. Louis, MO and was offered a contract upon completion.

“To God the glory! Thank You Thunder Bay, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn't for you and your team!” Vinny said when asked about the recent signing.  Santarsiero achieved a 1.66 ERA in 21.2 innings of work, appearing in 16 games allowing only nine runs while striking out 23 with two wins, one loss and a team leading four saves.

The Border Cats wish Vinny the best of luck with his professional career.
