Border Cats Overwhelmed by Bucks

The Thunder Bay Border Cats were simply outplayed in Thursday night’s game in Waterloo, Iowa. The Cats fell 8-0 to the Bucks with Hunter Spencer picking up the victory for the Bucks.

The game was delayed for about an hour and a half prior to first pitch thanks to ‘golf ball’ sized hail. The storm caused a major delay as lots of work needed to be done to return the field to playable conditions. Once the game started there were lots of zero’s put up on the board by both pitchers. Both teams had chances to score with multiple runners on but the Bucks were the only team to capitalize on their chances. It was 2-0 for Waterloo until the seventh inning when the Bucks added six more runs to make the final 8-0.

The game marks the first of two games in Waterloo before the Border Cats make their return to Port Arthur Stadium for the Home Opener. The Cats will faceoff against the Eau Claire Express at 6:05 PM in front of what should be an amazing crowd. There have already been close to one thousand tickets sold so the welcome home party will be incredible. Make sure you and all your friends are there to welcome home our Border Cats from their three week long road trip. You can reserve your seat by visiting the box office or calling 766-2287.
