BORDER CATS ROLL OVER HONKERS!

The first game of the four game road trip had the Thunder Bay Border Cats visiting the Rochester Honkers. The Border Cats got off to a slow start but once the third inning came around the Cats completely took over. From that point, the Cats scored 11 unanswered runs to win the game 11-3.

The offense was the story of the game as plenty of Border Cats had big nights. Colin Rosenbaum was one player who had a great night as he contributed three RBI’s. The big inning came in the sixth when JF Garon hit a two-run home run and then Braden Mosley followed him up with another home run. Andy Weber, Noah Strohl and Colin Rosenbaum added the other RBI’s in the six run inning. From that point on Jesse Bogacz and Cody O’Brien came in and shut down the game.

Although the Cats scored 11 runs, starting pitcher Jake Mielock had a great start striking out six in just over five innings. He didn’t allow any earned runs since the Cats had shaky defense early in the game. Mielock pitched a great game and was a huge factor in keeping the game close at the start.

The Cats now look to win three in a row tomorrow against the same Honkers. Make sure to follow along on Twitter for up to the minute updates.
