Waterloo, IA – The Northwoods League has announced the rosters for the 2016 Major League Dreams Showcase which includes two members of the Waterloo Bucks.  The event, which will be hosted by the Madison Mallards at Warner Park on Tuesday, August 9, will consist of a double-header featuring the top players from the NWL.  Waterloo outfielder Robert Neustrom and pitcher Trevor Patterson have been chosen to participate in game one of the double-header.

Neustrom, neustrom-roberta freshman from the University of Iowa and originally from Sioux City, Iowa, is hitting .321 with four home runs and 34 RBI for the Bucks this summer.  The 6’3”, 200-pound outfielder has 12 doubles, a .469 slugging percentage, and five stolen bases in 44 games.

Patterson, a right-handed junior from Minnesota State University, has appeared in 11 games this season for Waterloo, owning a 1.69 ERA.  The 6’4”, 220-pounder from Chanhassen, Minnesota has struck out four in 10.2 innings pitched and is holding opponents to a .147 batting average.

Players for the Showcase were selected by a panel of Major League Baseball Scouts.  The players will participate in a day of workouts in front of scouts which will be followed by the double-hpatterson-trevoreader.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Northwoods League Foundation. The Northwoods League Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that serves as a vehicle to transform a shared passion for baseball into positive change and support for communities. Of the many needs the foundation may address through grants, scholarships or donations, one ongoing focus will be to view its member communities and look upon the baseball programs they have in place with a harmonious goal of making them all finer places to live.

The players on the visiting team in this game will come from St. Cloud, Mankato, Thunder Bay, Wisconsin and Duluth.
