Willmar, Minn. – The Willmar Stingers are excited to announce their full promotional schedule for the 2015 season presented by Marcus Construction. This will be the Stingers sixth in the Northwoods League and this summer will be packed with exciting giveaways, themes, and special guests at the Bee Hive. The Stingers are proud to bring good wholesome family entertainment to the ballpark and provide unique experiences you can’t get anywhere else.

Opening Week
The 2015 Home Opener is Thursday, May 28th presented by Marcus Construction and will feature a guest appearance by former Minnesota Twin Jacque Jones. Jones will be on hand to greet fans, sign autographs, and throw out the ceremonial first pitch. The 1st 500 fans will receive a 2015 magnet schedule and everyone will be treated to a post-game fireworks show!
 
Friday, May 29th is Baseball Cap Giveaway Night presented by Heritage Bank & Pioneer Heritage Insurance. A longtime fan favorite giveaway, the 1st 300 fans through the gate that night will receive a Stingers baseball cap.
 
After three games away from the Bee Hive, the Stingers return home Tuesday, June 3rd for Rice Community All-Stars Night presented by Rice Memorial Hospital. Nine area kids are going to be recognized as community All-Stars and be given an experience of a lifetime. Each of the nine kids will be official members of the Stingers team, given their own jerseys, take batting practice with the team and receive their very own baseball card!
 
Bobble Heads
Friday, August 7th is Michael Suchy Bobble Head Giveaway Night presented by Conway, Deuth & Schmiesing, PLLP. The 1st 300 fans that night will receive a token to be redeemed for a bobble head during the game. The Stingers held a fan vote to decide the bobble head, and Suchy edged out Barry (the team mascot), Manager Drew Saberhagen and Bill Taunton.
 
Even though he didn’t win the fan vote, Bill Taunton will indeed be immortalized as a bobble head thanks to his family being a part of this promotion. The night will be Saturday, August 8th and 1st 200 fans receive a token to be redeemed for a Bill Taunton bobble head.
 
Giveaway Nights
The 2015 season will again see a variety of giveaway nights that fans of all ages will enjoy. Cash Wise Foods will be the presenting sponsor of two jersey nights this summer. Friday, June 12th is Hunter Dozier Jersey Night where the 1st 250 kids will receive a jersey. On Sunday, July 19th, Case Wise Foods is presenting an Adult Jersey Night for the 1st 200 adults.
 
Monday, August 3rd is Blues Brothers Night presented by Fischer Laser Eye Center. The 1st 500 fans will get their own pair of Blues Brothers sunglasses. Stinger Nation will be able to channel their inner Jake & Elwood Blues as this night will also feature a Blues Brothers tribute band called 1060 West Addison Blues.
 
Young Stingers fans will have the opportunity to receive giveaway items featuring everyone’s favorite mascot…BARRY! Wednesday, June 10 is Barry T-shirt Night presented by Christianson & Associates (1st 250 kids). On Friday, July 31st, the 1st 250 kids will receive a Barry Kickball courtesy of ACMC.
 
A baseball tradition, Baseball Bat Giveaway Night will again be presented by Perkins Lumber on Monday, June 29th. The 1st 250 kids will receive a full-sized black & yellow maple bat!
 
Special Events
Who likes cold-cuts? Everyone, right? Well former NFL player and now ‘cold-cuts’ legend Ickey Woods will be making a guest appearance for Ickey Woods Night presented by Hansen Advertising and Subway on Tuesday, July 7th. Ickey will be on hand to greet fans and sign autographs.
 
The Dueling Duo piano act will be at the ballpark again this summer for “Dueling Duo Night” presented by 94.1 the Loon on Thursday, June 11th. Ryno, Adam and Dan will be entertaining all game long as they incorporate their music and comedy into the night’s game.
 
Mark your calendars now, as the Dueling Duo will perform a season ending show on Friday, August 21st presented by Bernick’s. The show will take place at Bill Taunton Stadium with the doors opening at 7 pm, show begins at 8 pm.

Firework Shows
Including the 2015 Home Opener presented by Marcus Construction, the Stingers will feature four fireworks shows over the course of the summer.

Thursday, July 2nd is Veteran’s Appreciation Night presented by Bremer Bank & Uncommon USA. This night the Stingers will tip their caps to the local veterans who have and continue to serve this country.

Saturday, July 18th is “Christmas In July” presented by Hansen Advertising. The 1st 300 fans will receive a Stingers ornament that night to hang on their Christmas tree.

Sunday, August 9th is Fan Appreciation Night presented by Fischer Laser Eye Center. 3D Glass will be handed out to take in the fireworks show following the game as the Stingers bring a close to the 2015 season.

Field Manager Drew Saberhagen, as well as the Stingers organization will continue to build the roster for the 2015 season.
