Willmar, Minn. — The only thing stopping Kiko Garcia Tuesday night was a pitch count.

Having come just short of a complete game on two previous occasions with a pair of eight inning starts, Garcia was not going to be stopped from a complete game performance the third time around. With nine innings of six-hit ball from Garcia, the Stingers toppled the Blue Anchors for the second straight night, with a 6-3 win at Bill Taunton Stadium.

After giving up his only earned runs of the night, Garcia and the Stingers found themselves trailing the Blue Anchors going to the bottom of the third inning.

But for the second straight game against Alexandria, the Stingers scored right away after that to take the lead for good in that third inning. Three straight hits were all the Stingers (38-20, 15-9 second half) needed in that third inning to take the lead. Sean Beesley singled to start the rally and stole second base with Storm Wilson at the plate. Wilson promptly singled right after that to tie the game at two. Eddie Estrada came up with a hit in his 10th straight game to push Wilson to third, and Wilson scored a batter later on a heads up base running play after Estrada stole second to make it 3-2 in the Stingers' favor.

Willmar added a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth with a sacrifice fly from Justin Thaxton and an RBI double by Brian Pruett to give Garcia some more room to work with. And Garcia sure worked well with the lead. The Pepperdine right-hander finished his night facing the minimum in four of his nine innings. Garcia walked just one batter throughout the complete game, which didn't come until the ninth inning. And after he gave up three hits in the third inning, Garcia gave up just three more the rest of the way in his final six innings of work.

The second complete game a Stinger has pitched this summer took Garcia just 102 pitches, just one more pitch than what he threw in eight innings against Rochester on July 10.

In the win, Estrada pushed his hitting streak to 10 straight games, tying him with Dan Motl for the longest hitting streak this year.

The Stingers will be back at home Wednesday night for Trading Card Giveaway Night presented by Bernick's Pepsi. The first 500 fans through the gates will receive a pack of Stingers trading cards that includes the players and coaching staff from the 2015 team.
