Willmar, Minn.– The Stingers had to wait almost 24 hours to finish Thursday's game, but what a finish it ended up being. 

After falling in a five-run hole going to the bottom of the seventh, the Stingers scored runs in the final four innings, coming back after being down by a run two times in the final two innings to walk off in extra innings, 9-8 against Duluth. The Stingers would go on to sweep the Huskies with a 2-1 win in the second game of the abbreviated double header. 

The conclusion of Thursday's game had been postponed to Friday, and the two teams picked up the offense when the game resumed in the top of the sixth. Duluth scored six runs between the sixth and seventh innings to go up 7-2, but the Stingers had no plans of losing. 

Four home runs later the Stingers had tied the game for the second time, this time at eight in the bottom of the 10th inning. Lucas Tancas hit a solo shot in the seventh, and then Brian Pruett and Sean Beesley went back-to-back in the eighth to bring the Stingers within a run. In the ninth, Dylan Alexander singled home pinch runner Billy Quirke to tie the score at seven and take it to extras. 

In the 10th, with Dan Motl down to his last strike, he blasted a solo shot to left field to tie the score at eight. Eddie Estrada singled right after that, and Reagan Fowler came up with a two-out double down the left field line to give the Stingers their 21st come-from-behind win. 

In the second game, offense was harder to come by, but the Stingers scratched across single runs in the first and seventh innings to take a late 2-1 lead. 

Bradley Bailey was strong in his five innings of work in his 11th start of the year, allowing just one run on two hits while striking out a season-high five. Jonny Ortiz came out of the bullpen to earn his second win of the year with three scoreless innings of relief. 

The 45 wins put the Stingers just one away from tying the franchise record set a season ago.
