Willmar, Minn. — Duluth scored a third inning run Monday night and that's all the Huskies needed in a 2-0 win, ending the Stingers season in the first round of the North Division playoffs.

Again pitching headlined another game for the Stingers in a season that saw them set the franchise record for lowest team ERA. Tyler Hanson battled for Willmar and gave up just one run in his six innings of work on six hits, striking out one while yielding just one walk.

The only run against Hanson though proved the difference in the game. Danny Lee singled for Duluth with out out in the third and came around on Jimmy Heck's RBI single two batters later to give the Huskies the lead for good.

Willmar had several quality scoring opportunities, but the closest the Stingers got to scoring was in the first and second innings. The Stingers loaded the bases in the first but left them full. Then in the second, Tyler Leffler attempted to score from third on a fly ball but was thrown out at the plate. Willmar didn't get a runner past second base the rest of the night.
