21st Round Draft Pick Joining the Woodchucks

Wausau, WIS – The Wisconsin Woodchucks announced today the addition of two new players to the 2014 roster. Right handed pitcher Andy Ravel and left handed pitcher Jared Skolnicki from Kent State University.

Ravel, a freshman pitcher from Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2013 MLB Draft, but chose to continue his baseball career at the collegiate level first. Ravel is off to a 1-0 start for Kent State with 7 K's in the early college baseball season. In high school, he posted a record of 23-6 at Wilson High School. He was an All-American, All-State and All-Conference selection after an impressive senior year.

Skolnicki, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is also a freshman pitcher at Kent State University. As a senior in high school he posted a 0.27 ERA with a 11-1 record and 113 strikeouts in 78 innings. Jared also batted .435 in his final season. He was named All-State, MSA Player of the Year and PBR District 7 Pitcher of the Year. He was also named an Almanac Baseball MVP and made his conference All-Star Game as a senior.
