Woodchucks Start Final Homestand for the 2015 Season

Wausau, WIS- The Wisconsin Woodchucks kick off their final homestand of the season on Wednesday with a 6:35 p.m. contest against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.  This game finishes a two game series that was started as a part of Monday’s triple header at Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids. On Monday the Woodchucks lost 2 of the 3 games in the tripleheader.

The gates open at 5:35 pm on Wednesday.  Have fun in the park with the inflatable games, face painting, and the playground.  It is Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce Night & Peoples State Bank night at the ballpark, both presented by Peoples State Bank. ‘Look! My hotdog is green!’ During the game, select hot dogs will be wrapped with a special green voucher that have a monetary value of $5, $10, or $100. 

Make sure you bring the kids and arrive early since it is also the final Waterpark Wednesday of the 2015 season. The first 500 children (12 and under) will receive a complimentary waterpark pass to the Grand Lodge Waterpark Resort.

The Woodchucks are hoping to improve on their 3-3 record against the Lakeshore Chinooks when they take them on in a two game series which begins at 7:05 pm on Thursday. Gates open for Thursday’s game at 5:35 p.m. and the first 1,000 fans will receive a Woody Woodchuck bobblehead courtesy of Ministry Health Care.

Thursdays are also Thickburger Thursdays presented by Hardee’s.  The first 500 fans will receive a free Thickburger coupon.

Friday August 7 the Woodchucks again take on the Lakeshore Chinooks for their final meeting of the season.  The gates to Neighborhood Park will open at 5:35 p.m., for the 7:05 game.

Moms: we invite you to come to Friday’s game with your sons since its Mother and Son Night out!  For only $25 the guests can receive two reserved tickets, two hot dogs, two bags of popcorn, and four kid zone tokens.  To order your tickets for this event call 715.845.5055.

Friday is also the last Firework and Fish Fry Friday of the 2015 Woodchucks season. The fireworks spectacular this week is presented by Cellcom.

The final series of the season starts Saturday when the Woodchucks host the Battle Creek Bombers.  So far the Woodchucks are 3-3 against the Bombers and are hoping to end the season on a high note.

The Party at the Park concert series ends on Saturday as gates open at 5:00 p.m. Fans can enjoy the inflatables, face painting, and the playground. The game will begin at 7:05 p.m. The famous, zany ZOOperstars will be visiting Athletic Park for Saturday’s game and will perform multiple times throughout the night. This fun group is presented by Rib Mountain Paper.

Saturday is also Woody Woodchuck’s 22nd birthday.  Come join the birthday fun, which is presented by Culver’s

Sunday’s 5:05 p.m. contest against the Battle Creek Bombers concludes the series and the 2015 season. Gates will open early, at 3:00 p.m. for Fan Appreciation Night. 

This game is dedicated to our fans.  To show our appreciation, Woodchuck prizes will be given away throughout the game and during a Pre-Game Fan Fest, which will also include player autographs/pictures and inflatables. As always food and beverages are available for purchase in the park.  We will also be having an end of the season garage sale to make room for new renovations that will occur at the end of this season.

Don’t forget – Sundays are also Family Fundays.  Four hot dogs, four bottled sodas, four bags of chips, and four reserved tickets are $45.  This event is presented by Trig’s.
