Wisconsin Woodchucks Home Opening Weekend This Week
Wausau, WI- The Wisconsin Woodchucks season begins this week! It’s opening week in Wisconsin in the Northwoods League presented by Edvest. The team starts the season on the road Tuesday, May 31 against the newest NWL team the Rockford Rivets and opens up the season at home on Friday, June 3 with a fun filled, five game Opening Weekend!
Opening Night is Friday, June 3 as the Woodchucks take on the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters at 7:05 p.m. Thanks to Cloverbelt Credit Union all fans entering the ballpark will receive a magnet schedule while supplies last. Be sure to stick around after the game for the first night of the Fireworks Fridays series; the Fireworks show is presented by Cellcom.
The first giveaway night of the season is on Saturday, June 4. Thanks to Culligan Water Systems the first 1000 fans will receive a Firefighter Woody Bobblehead! Be sure to come early for a Fan Fest, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., where you can meet some of the players, Fan Fest will include autographs and pictures and free inflatable games for the children. Food and beverages will be available for purchase during Fan Fest. First pitch against the Rockford Rivets is set for 6:35 pm.
Thanks to Dovorany Orthodontics the first Woody’s Reading Club night is Sunday, June 5. The Woodchucks finish the series against the Rockford Rivets at 3:05 p.m.
Free hat Monday’s kick off on June 6. The first 250 fans through the gate will receive a Woodchucks hat. First pitch against the Thunder Bay Border Cats at 6:35 p.m.
The Woodchucks wrap up their opening weekend with a 6:35 p.m. contest against the Thunder Bay Border Cats on Tuesday, June 7. Tuesday’s game is Kids Eat Free night and the first 250 children, 12 and under will receive a complimentary voucher for a free hot dog, chips, and fountain drink with paid purchase of a ticket.
Tickets for all of the opening weekend fun can be purchased online, at woodchucks.com, by calling the Front Office at 715.845.5055, or by stopping by the Front Office (300 3rd. St. Suite 305, Wausau WI 54403) anytime between 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. Tickets may also be purchased at the gates the night of the games. The Woodchucks are hoping for another great season of baseball and fun at the newly renovated Athletic Park.
