Martinez, Passatempo lead 'Chucks offense to rain-shortened victory

 

Rockford, IL – The Wisconsin Woodchucks (24-29, 11-7 Second Half) beat the Rockford Rivets (29-29, 10-8 Second Half), 5-2, in a game that was called in the sixth inning Wednesday at Rivets Stadium in Rockford, Illinois.

Javier Martinez (College of DuPage) had a double and a two-run homer in his first game back with the 'Chucks.

Steve Passatempo (UMass Lowell) clubbed a three-run double in the third inning to start the Woodchucks' scoring. He went 4-8 in the two-game series with two homers, two doubles, eight runs batted in and three runs scored.

Steele Walker (Oklahoma) walked twice, wasn't able to extend his franchise-record 23-game hitting streak. He was at the plate when play was suspended in the sixth.

Scott Parker (San Francisco) threw five scoreless innings, allowing just two runs and striking out three. He collected the win.
