Wausau, WIS – Pitchers Clay Helvey and Scott Kobos from will be coming to Wausau to play for the Wisconsin Woodchucks this summer.  

 

RHP – Clay Helvey | 6'2" | R/R | Sophomore | St. John's River State College

Helvey comes to the Woodchucks from St. John’s River State College where he has a 4.25 ERA with 37 strikeouts in 36 IP so far this season.  As a freshman at the College of Charleston he accumulated a 3.72 era and 15 strikeouts in 19 innings. Helvey signed with the University of Tampa for next season. He is originally from Fort Mill, South Carolina.

 

OF/LHP – Scott Kobos | 6'2" | L/L | Sophomore | St. John's River State College

Kobos is off to an impressive start in 2017 with St. John’s River State College.  In seven games, he has a 1.85 ERA with 38 strikeouts in 39 IP and a .404 batting average. He was named to the USA Mid-Atlantic Team in 2014. He is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina.
