\n\tGame One:\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Bombers started the first game of the double header verse the Madison Mallards up 1-0 as it was postponed due to rain a few weeks back.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThat did not slow down the Mallards, however, as they got two runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back, going on to win 5-3. \n<\/p>\n
\n\tCade Stone (LSU) finally saw his bat perk up as he went 2-3 with 2 RBIs on the day.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tOn the mound getting a spot start was Joe Mockbee (MSU). Joe pitched very well, but caught a few bad breaks as balls dropped in that were softly hit.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tIn relief for the Spartan was a newcomer to the Bombers, Luke Heller (Cornerstone). Heller was just released by the Green Bay Bullfrogs and Battle Creek jumped at the opportunity to pick him up.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tJust like Mockbee, Heller pitched very well, but did end up getting the loss for the first half of the double header on July 4th here in Madison.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tGame Two:\n<\/p>\n
\n\tBy Nick Winstead<\/em>\n<\/p>\n \n\tThe Bombsquad had Dakota Mekkes (Michigan State) on the mound for game two against the Mallards. Like his Spartan counterpart, Joe Mockbee, Mekkes pitched well but could not catch a break as defensive plays were just a bit out of reach for the Bombers on a few occasions.\n<\/p>\n \n\tMekkes would be chased from the game in the 4th after giving up 5 runs in the inning, making it a 7-1 lead for the Mallards.\n<\/p>\n \n\tNew Bomber Hunter Jobe (Pfeiffer) came in and finished out the game–looking good in the process.\n<\/p>\n \n\tThe Bombers bats could not manage to get going against the Mallards, managing just four hits throughout the course of the seven inning game.\n<\/p>\n \n\tThe Bombers will try to avoid the sweep tomorrow, first pitch at the Duck Pond is at 5:35.\n<\/p>\n \n\t <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Game One: By: Pat Mullen The Bombers started the first game of the double header verse the Madison Mallards up […]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":13,"featured_media":2232,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[27],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2231","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-team-news"],"yoast_head":"\n
