\n\tBy: Pat Mullen<\/em>\n<\/p>\n \n\tKalamazoo, Mich.-<\/strong> The Bombers could not get it going at Homer Stryker Field as the Growlers won the Sunday afternoon matchup, 13-3. \n<\/p>\n \n\tKalamazoo had two big innings that were the difference in the game against the Bombers. They scored five runs in both the third and eighth inning, including a grand slam and a three run shot.\n<\/p>\n \n\t"Guys aren't playing hard for nine innings. They would lock in for three then give up their at bats early or late in the game," Coach Jimmy Correnti said.\n<\/p>\n \n\tHe added, "the biggest thing about this league is you have to play a hard nine every single day."\n<\/p>\n \n\tOffensively, the Bombers did gather nine hits as a team and Colby Bortles (Ole Miss) had two RBIs for Battle Creek.\n<\/p>\n \n\tSpencer Thornton (San Diego St.) had a big swing in the top of the eighth inning with a solo home run, his first of the season.\n<\/p>\n \n\tBattle Creek is now on break for three days for All-Star festivities up in Mequon, Wisconsin. Jacob Waguespack and Dakota Mekkes will represent the Bombers for the South Division. \n<\/p>\n \n\tThe Bombsquad will hope to get back on track after the break as they head to Rochester for a two game inter-league series.
