\n\tBrennon Lund and Mason Marshall Ticketed for Battle Creek<\/em>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\"Slide1\"<\/a>Battle Creek, Mich.<\/strong> – After announcing their first roster additions of the 2015 season last week, the Bombers have now made public the signings of Brennon Lund and Mason Marshall, a pair of former All-Americans from Brigham Young University.  This now marks four current or former All-Americans signed to play for Battle Creek this summer.  The team also plans to release the signings of two other All-Americans next week. <\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tOF Brennon Lund (5’10”, 185, Sophomore, Bats: L\/Throws: R)<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to being named a 2013 Rawlings All-American as a senior at Bingham High School, Lund earned first-team all-West Coast Conference honors and was named to the all-WCC freshman team during his first year at BYU. From his first game in a Cougar uniform, Lund has been a staple atop the BYU batting order, leading off and playing centerfield in 52 of the team’s 53 games. He hit .303, scoring 39 runs, stealing 11 bases, and reaching base at a .364 clip. Defensively, he made only one error in centerfield, totaling to a .993 fielding percentage. In BYU’s season-ending sweep of The University of Portland, Lund recorded four hits, six runs, and three RBIs.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to Baseball America’s Clint Longenecker, scouts praise Lund’s “bat speed,” “quick hands” and “[capability] of hitting to all fields,” during the Cape Cod League Workout Day last summer. In Cape Cod League play, Lund appeared in 33 regular season games for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. He hit .500 in six postseason games, helping the Red Sox to the 2014 Cape Cod League Championship.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“Brennon is one of the best all-around players we are bringing in this summer,” Field Manager Robert Robinson said of Lund. “He is a very good athlete with a solid arm and plus speed in the outfield as well as an ability to hit for average and power. His mindset is to get better everyday and push those around him, which will make him a great leader in the clubhouse this season.”<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tRHP Mason Marshall (5’10”, 170, Sophomore, Bats: R\/Throws: R)<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAs a freshman in 2012, Marshall was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team and West Coast Conference all-freshman team. He finished the season with nine saves, which placed him in a tie for second in BYU history. In 39 1\/3 innings he posted a 2.29 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP, while striking out 32 batters. Nicknamed “The Mantis” for his unorthodox delivery, Marshall rejoins the BYU roster for the 2015 season after spending two years in the Philippines on a Mission Trip.\n<\/p>\n

\n\t“I am excited to watch Mason battle all season long as a member of the Bombers,” Robinson said. “He has a bulldog-like mentality, doing whatever he can to execute every pitch. And it never hurts to have a guy with a great nickname.”<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn 2011, both Marshall and Lund helped propel Bingham High School to the Utah 5A State Championship. During that season, with Lund patrolling the outfield, Marshall was named the State Tournament MVP, going 11-0 with a 0.93 ERA during his senior season. He also threw a perfect game and was named the Utah High School Activities Association Most Inspirational Athlete for the 5A division.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBoth Utah-natives and the four other Bombers All-Americans start their summer season at C.O. Brown Stadium on opening day of the 2015 Northwoods League season. The Bombers open by hosting the defending Northwoods League champion Lakeshore Chinooks on May 26th. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
