With a new front office, fresh leadership on the field, and ambitious upgrades for fans and sponsors, <a href=\"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/battle-creek-battle-jacks\/2025\/05\/06\/battlejackswelcomenewonerscottmiles\/\">new owner Scott Miles<\/a> is putting his stamp on the team in a major way.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"508\" data-end=\"931\">\u201cWe\u2019re raising the bar with a seasoned, high-energy leadership team, and it\u2019s already paying off,\u201d said Miles. \u201cWe\u2019ve hit the ground running, not just with elite early player signings, but also on the business side with identified key opportunities for us to make an immediate impact as a new management group. Next season, fans, sponsors, and groups will see a game-day experience that\u2019s been elevated across the board.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"933\" data-end=\"1180\">Miles, who purchased the team at the start of the 2025 season, spent his first summer observing and learning. Now, he\u2019s ready to raise expectations: \u201cIt\u2019s time to improve the food, tighten the show, and put a more competitive team on the field.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1208\">A New Leadership Team<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1210\" data-end=\"1291\">The Battle Jacks introduced three key hires who will lead the charge into 2026:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1293\" data-end=\"2388\">\n<li data-start=\"1293\" data-end=\"1659\">\n<p data-start=\"1295\" data-end=\"1659\"><strong data-start=\"1295\" data-end=\"1327\"><a href=\"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/battle-creek-battle-jacks\/front-office-updated\/\">Sam Connell<\/a>, General Manager<\/strong> \u2013 A Michigan native and former collegiate player, Connell brings more than a decade of front office experience, including six seasons in the Northwoods League. Most recently with the Traverse City Pit Spitters, Connell will lead day-to-day business operations and serve as the face of the franchise in the Battle Creek community.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1661\" data-end=\"2021\">\n<p data-start=\"1663\" data-end=\"2021\"><strong data-start=\"1663\" data-end=\"1690\"><a href=\"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/battle-creek-battle-jacks\/coaching-staff\/\">Chris Fletcher<\/a>, Manager<\/strong> \u2013 A seasoned coach and respected baseball mind, Fletcher is currently the founder and head coach of the baseball program at Moberly Area Community College in Missouri. With 12 years of coaching experience and a reputation for developing talent and building high-character teams, Fletcher will lead the Battle Jacks on the field.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2023\" data-end=\"2388\">\n<p data-start=\"2025\" data-end=\"2388\"><strong data-start=\"2025\" data-end=\"2071\"><a href=\"https:\/\/northwoodsleague.com\/battle-creek-battle-jacks\/front-office-updated\/\">David Walsh Jr.<\/a>, Head of Baseball Strategy<\/strong> \u2013 The team\u2019s first-ever Head of Baseball Strategy will focus on long-term player development, recruiting infrastructure, and baseball operations. Walsh has deep ties to elite college programs across the Northeast and brings over a decade of coaching experience, including multiple College World Series appearances.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"2390\" data-end=\"2417\">Building the 2026 Team<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"121\" data-end=\"387\">Fletcher and Walsh have wasted no time shaping the 2026 roster. Twelve players are already committed, highlighted by lefty power arms, thumpers at the corners, an outfield full of horses who can cover the field, anchored by an All-American shortstop\/second baseman anchoring the infield.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"389\" data-end=\"540\">This isn\u2019t just depth, it\u2019s elite-level talent coming to Battle Creek, the foundation of a new culture that reflects the city\u2019s grit and work ethic.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"542\" data-end=\"730\">\u201cWe\u2019re building a roster that plays the game the right way, gritty and relentless,\u201d said Head of Baseball Dave Walsh. \u201cIt\u2019s the kind of team the Battle Creek community can be proud of.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"732\" data-end=\"998\">Manager Chris Fletcher added, \u201cOur focus is on developing players who not only compete, but also buy into a team-first identity.
