\n\tThe Battle Creek Bombers defeated the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, 5-2, in a game that was suspended after 1.5 innings in Wisconsin Rapids and resumed Saturday afternoon at C.O. Brown Stadium.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Bombers would take an early lead in the top of the second inning against Chris Cooper, as Nick Podkul led off the inning with a single and came around to score on Cody Young's groundout. But with heavy rains in Wisconsin Rapids, the game would be suspended heading to the bottom of the second inning, being resumed at C.O. Brown Stadium on Saturday afternoon.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tBennett Norry would come into to pitch the bottom of the second, relieving Chi-Ping Wu who started the game in Wisconsin Rapids, working around two walks to keep the Rafters scoreless.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tBattle Creek would load the bases in the top of the third on back-to-back-back singles by Nick Poirier, Storm Joop and Dean Miller before Daniel Jipping's sac fly would extend the Bombers' lead to 2-0.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tOnce again in the fourth, the Bombers would add to their lead and again on a sacrifice fly. Christian Helsel walked and Cody Young followed with a hit-by-pitch to put runners at first and second with no outs. An interference call allowed Helsel to advance to third before Cody Sporrer's sac fly gave the Bombers a 3-0 lead.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tAnd as Norry continued to strand Rafters' runners on base, the Bombers tacked on another run in the top of the seventh, as back-to-back singles put by Young and Sporrer put runners on first and second. Sporrer advanced to second as Young was caught in a rundown, but with two outs, Poirier lined a single into right to extend the lead to 4-0.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Rafters would finally get to Norry in the eighth as with a runner at second, Max Widmar launched a two-run homer to right field, but Norry would limit the damage to just the two runs and send Battle Creek to the eighth. Norry finished his start for the Bombers pitching 6.0 innings, allowing two runs on four hits and five walks while striking out three as he picked up the win for the Bombers.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tBattle Creek would get a run back in the top of the eighth as they'd load the bases against Reed Stumpf on Miller's single and two hit-by-pitches before Miller would score on Young's groundout, making it a 5-2 Battle Creek lead.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tColton Bradley would relieve Norry in the eighth, pitching a scoreless eighth and ninth to nail down the save, his second of the year.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWith the win the Bombers move to 38-32 on the season, surpassing their win total from 2009 for the second-most wins in Bombers' history while the Rafters fall to 48-22 on the season, snapping their nine-game winning streak.\n<\/p>\n
