\n\tAfter just scoring three runs yesterday and only one of them earned, the Kenosha Kingfish used a two-run second inning and six-run third inning to blank the Battle Creek Bombers 8-2.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Bombers (8-4) just didn’t have the offense to keep up with Kenosha (8-4) on Saturday night. Battle Creek was held to just three hits despite totaling ten hits the night prior.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tBattle Creek scored first in the game, a one out single for Alex Howard (Arkansas State) led to Tom Stoffel (Virginia Tech) hitting into a groundout that scored Howard. Howard, in his Battle Creek debut, finished 2-4 with a run scored.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tKenosha responded in the second, hitting back-to-back singles. A sacrifice bunt moved the runners over, and set up a sac fly RBI and RBI double. Putting Kenosha out in front 2-1.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tKenosha continued to hit off Battle Creek starter Taylor Horn (Wayne State) and later reliever Jake Hawken (University of Portland). the Kingfish rallied for six runs off five hits in the top of the third. Kenosha took a commanding 8-1 lead.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Battle Creek offense had no answer for Kenosha starter Michael Costanzo, who held Battle Creek to one hit and struck out six.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tWith one out in the eighth, Bomber designated hitter J.D. Mundy (Virginia Tech) blasted a solo shot to right field to try and start a Battle Creek rally, but the Bombers came up short.\n<\/p>\n
\n\tBattle Creek will hit the road tomorrow and visit the Wisconsin Woodchucks for the first time this season. The Bombers will start at 4:05 ET and will throw James Rodgers (Davenport).
