\n\tRockford, Ill. – <\/strong>The Battle Creek Bombers (15-11) battled back and forth with Rockford before finally pulling away in the eighth inning to defeat the Rivets 4-3.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tJacob Blunt (Clarke University) would come through with a two out RBI-single in the eighth to give BC the one-run victory.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Bombers came from behind in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead on RBI-singles from Jordan Getzelman (Menlo College) and Alex Howard (Arkansas State University).\n<\/p>\n

\n\tHoward would lead the team offensively going 3-4 with the RBI, his fourth multi-hit game. \n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Rivets (15-11) would tie the game in the bottom half of the fifth on an RBI-single from Eric Cole (Arkansas).\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBombers starter Jared Middleton (University of West Florida) lasted 5.0 innings as he allowed three runs on seven hits in a no-decision effort.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tJake Hawken (University of Portland) and Mark Quinby (UC San Diego) would shut the game down out of the bullpen. \n<\/p>\n

\n\tHawken went 2.2 innings allowing only one hit as he picked up his third win.  Quinby completed the four out save, his second of the season. \n<\/p>\n

\n\tBoth teams now sit in a tie for third-place in the south division standings, 2.5 games behind second-place Kenosha and 7.0 games behind the leading Wisconsin Rapids Rafters\n<\/p>\n

\n\tGame two of BC’s series with Rockford begins Monday nights at 6:35 p.m. CT.  Trent Johnson (Tulane University) will be the probable starter for Battle Creek.\n<\/p>\n
