The Battle Creek Bombers and the Kalamazoo Mac Daddies split Friday night\u2019s doubleheader, with the Bombers taking the first game, 2-1, and the Mac Daddies taking the second, 5-3.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n GAME ONE<\/b><\/p>\n Tim Pomaville (Concordia University) <\/b>got the start for the Bombers and gave up one run over three innings on two hits and four walks. <\/span>Jake Carroll (Northwood University) <\/b>started for Kalamazoo and got the loss, pitching three innings, giving up two runs on one hit and three walks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Tyler Carper (University of Minnesota Morris) <\/b>came out of the bullpen for the Bombers and picked up the win by throwing two no-hit innings to close out the game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Mac Daddies got the scoring started in the top of the first when <\/span>Kyle Ashworth<\/b> (<\/span>California Polytechnic State University) <\/b>tripled off the wall and later scored on a wild pitch.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Bombers would respond in the fourth when <\/span>Jimmy Wressel (Concordia University) <\/b>knocked in two runs with a single to put the Bombers up for good.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n GAME TWO<\/b><\/p>\n Justin Mansager (Kalamazoo Valley Community College) <\/b>started for the Mac Daddies, going three innings, giving up one run on two hits and three walks. <\/span>Connor Vallie (Davenport University) <\/b>had a strong Bombers debut in his first start, throwing three innings of one-hit ball.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Peter Theodorellis (Molloy College) <\/b>picked up the loss, giving up three runs on four hits in the fourth inning. <\/span>Parker Murdie (Grand Valley State University) <\/b>got the win, throwing two innings, giving up two runs on three hits.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Bombers started the scoring early as <\/span>Alex Baumann (University of Minnesota Morris)<\/b> scored while <\/span>Matt Hogan (Vanderbilt University) <\/b>was caught in a rundown between first and second.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The lead stood until the Mac Daddies scored three in the fourth, anchored by <\/span>Alex Ludwick\u2019s (Baldwin Wallace University) <\/b>2 RBI double.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Bombers responded with one in the bottom of the fourth as <\/span>Preston Sherman (Concordia University) <\/b>knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Jake Martin (College of the Desert) <\/b>hit a 2 RBI single to break the game open in the top of the fifth and extend the Mac Daddies\u2019 lead.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Bombers threatened in the fifth, adding another run on a sacrifice fly, but could not finish the comeback as Murdie got back-to-back Bombers to strikeout to end the game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Battle Creek Bombers and the Kalamazoo Mac Daddies split Friday night\u2019s doubleheader, with the Bombers taking the first game, […]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":13,"featured_media":8263,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[42,27,1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-8314","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-permanentslider","category-team-news","category-uncategorized"],"yoast_head":"\n
