The Battle Creek Bombers swept the Kalamazoo Mac Daddies in tonight\u2019s doubleheader, winning the first game, 9-3, and 2-0 in the second.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n GAME ONE<\/b><\/p>\n Joe Tany (Concordia University) <\/b>started for the Bombers and picked up the win with a strong performance, going three innings, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks. <\/span>Ryan Szlachic (Kalamazoo Valley Community College) <\/b>took the loss in his Mac Daddies\u2019 debut, giving up nine runs in 4.1 innings on seven hits and five walks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Bombers\u2019 bats came alive early in the game with a four-run first inning headlined by <\/span>Matt Hogan\u2019s (Vanderbilt University) <\/b>2 RBI double.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Mac Daddies weren\u2019t out of it, however, as they battled back by scoring two runs in the third when <\/span>Connor McGuire (University of California Irvine) <\/b>hit a long home run to left field. They also added another run in the fourth as <\/span>Ethan O\u2019Donnell (Northwestern University) <\/b>\u00a0scored <\/span>Parker Murdie (Grand Valley State University) <\/b>to make it a 4-3 game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Bombers got back in the run column in a big way in the fifth by posting a five-spot and extending the lead to six as three runs were walked in by Mac Daddies\u2019 pitching.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Tyler Carper (University of Minnesota Morris) <\/b>closed out the game for Battle Creek with two innings, allowing just one run on three hits in the fourth and fifth innings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n GAME TWO<\/b><\/p>\n Two-way player, <\/span>Pete Theodorellis (Molloy College) <\/b>started on the hill for Battle Creek, and earned the win with three scoreless innings, giving up only one hit. <\/span>Parker Sisovski (Kalamazoo College) <\/b>threw a complete game for the Mac Daddies, but took the loss after giving up two runs on five hits and a walk.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Bombers scored early once again as <\/span>Alex Baumann (University of Minnesota Morris) <\/b>reached on a leadoff single in the first and came all the way around to score, giving Battle Creek a 1-0 lead in the first.<\/span><\/p>\n Battle Creek also added a much-needed insurance run in the fifth when <\/span>Preston Sherman (Concordia University) <\/b>singled to score <\/span>Matt Hogan (Vanderbilt University).\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n Josh Swinehart (Western Michigan University) <\/b>earned the save with one inning of no-hit ball to end off the game and secure the Bombers\u2019 sweep of the doubleheader.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Battle Creek Bombers swept the Kalamazoo Mac Daddies in tonight\u2019s doubleheader, winning the first game, 9-3, and 2-0 in […]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":13,"featured_media":8295,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[42,27],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-8322","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-permanentslider","category-team-news"],"yoast_head":"\n
