The Bombers began their final series of the 2011 season\u2019s inaugrial roadtrip on Monday night with yet another comeback victory, this time a 7-6 thriller over the Green Bay Bullfrogs at Johannes Stadium.<\/p>\n
Entering the game, both teams boasted 4-1 records and were tied with the Madison Mallards for the Southern Division lead. Battle Creek scored first, when Daniel Rockett lofted a sacrifice fly into right field, scoring Bryce Redeker from third base. But the Frogs struck back in the next half inning, when their first baseman Andy Hunter sent a fly ball screaming over the left field fence for a two-run homer.<\/p>\n
But the Bombers weren\u2019t done yet. Battle Creek scored another two runs in the fourth on a Ryne Otis sac fly, and Redeker again scored, this time on a fielding error by Green Bay\u2019s left fielder Joe Betcher. Both teams scored a run in the sixth.<\/p>\n
With the lead 4-3, the Bombers nearly gave the game away in the bottom of the seventh when Joe Battistelli loaded the bases to open the inning, and the Frogs took advantage, scoring three runs without actually getting a hit. But, like so many games already this season, Battle Creek battled back, and put up three runs of their own in the eighth, credited to Otis and Troy White.<\/p>\n
