Today’s game got a late start due to more rain. This weekend was just full of rain. First, having to postpone Thursday’s game and making Friday a double head. Then, the doubleheader getting rained out. Those games against Waterloo will be played later in the season. After that, on Saturday we were able to get in the first game on the home stand, where the Bombers lost 5-4 in 12 innings of play.  Finally we thought things would be clear and dry for us, but mother nature rained hard over night and left standing water on the infield.

In the second inning with the bases loaded with one out Nate Blankemeyer walked in a run. Shane Street made a diving catch to end the inning as the Bullfrogs jumped out to a 1-0 lead.

With one out in the bottom of the fourth, the bats started to come alive for the Bombers. Brett Kauten and Sean Deegan hit back-to-back singles. But we unable to put any runs across the plate because Kauten was hit by a ball running to third base for the third out.

During the fifth inning Scott Schebler hit a triple and was able to score a runner putting the Bullfrogs up 2-0. In the seventh inning, with two outs the bases were loaded up by the Bullfrogs. Two of those runners would score on walks.

Dan Dispensa hit back to the warning track and was able to pick up an RBI triple to cut the Bullfrog lead down to 5-1. Eric Schultz then steps up to the plate and hits a ground out RBI.

The score would stay at 5-2 with the Bullfrogs beating the Bombers. Green Bay had five runs on 12 hits and two errors. The Bombers brought in two runners on four hits and one error.

The Bombers head to La Crosse for two games and then come back home to play the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters on Wednesday and Thursday. Thursday will be Thirsty Thursday with $1 beer and soda. The next time the Bombers are in town is Monday August 2, for Faith Night, which is a 6:05 start and two, seven inning games. There will be a pre-game concert that night.
