Share the Glove: Larks on the Lookout for Little Leaguers

Seeking $2,500 Grant Applications

One Bismarck area baseball team will receive brand new Rawlings equipment.

BISMARCK, ND – The Bismarck Larks are excited to announce that the organization will be accepting applications for a grant, courtesy of the Northwoods League Foundation’s newest program Share the Glove.

Share the Glove is an exciting opportunity for the Foundation to support youth organizations throughout our communities during the highly visible celebration of the Northwoods League’s 25th anniversary,” said Gary Hoover, Northwoods League Foundation Secretary. “We not only have the chance to impact those communities where the Northwoods League operates, but to foster a love and appreciation for the games of baseball and softball through participation.”

What is the grant?
The grant is for a standardized set of Rawlings equipment, sized for youth ages 9-12. With an approximate retail value of $2500, will include two sets of catcher’s gear, ten gloves, eight batting helmets, six bats and one bucket of practice balls.

Who is eligible to receive the grant?
The following criteria must be met in order to be eligible to receive the grant:

  • Organization qualifies as a 501(c)(3) organization, school or school-based program, or community-based organization as defined under US IRC section 501(c)(3);
  • Organization is not an individual, for-profit business, political, or religious organization;
  • Organization provides opportunities for kids ages 9-12 to play baseball or softball within a community that is served by a Northwoods League affiliate.

How will grant applications be accepted and awarded?
The Larks will be accepting grant applications from organizations within our community. To download an application, click here: Share the Glove Grant Application. Grant recipients will be notified in mid-May, ahead of the Bismarck Larks Home Opener on May 29th, 2018.
