Larks Lose Two in a Row Against Mankato

MANKATO, MN– The Bismarck Larks and Mankato MoonDogs battled it out for four innings with a 50 minute rain delay sprinkled in there and the Larks came away with a 4-2 loss in Mankato. On back to back nights, the Larks and MoonDogs game finishes with a 4-2 score. The Larks are now 36-30-1 overall and 11-19-1 in the second half.

Parker Dyson got his first start on the mound for the Larks and pitched five scoreless innings while striking out five batters and giving up just two hits. He carried a 1-0 lead into the rain delay that occurred in the top of the 6th inning and wasn’t able to return to the game following the delay.

The Larks scored their first run in the top of the third inning when Carson Bartels drew a one out walk and then came around to score when Kyle Stevens hit a double down the left field line.

After the rain delay, Matt Ponsiglione came into the game on the mound for the Larks and gave up three runs on three hits and one walk.

In the top of the 7th inning, Jacob Nesbit singled into left field and then scored on a double off of the wall to make it a 3-2 game.

Mankato scored again in the bottom of the 7th inning on a sacrifice fly to go ahead by two runs.

The Larks left eight runners on the base paths with just two innings without leaving a guy on base.

The Larks lost 4-2 and are now 36-30-1 on the season and 11-19-1 in the second half. The Larks will be back in action tomorrow at 7:05 against the Mankato MoonDogs in their 8th and final meeting of the year. Catch all the action on http://mixlr.com/larksbaseball/.
