For the past four years, the Bismarck Larks, Bismarck Magazine, and Scheels have come together for our Hidden Hometown Heroes program where community members nominate the unsung heroes of our families, businesses, and community.
This year, in honor of Bismarck’s 150th anniversary, we’re recognizing the hidden hometown heroes of history. These are unsung heroes in our community, who have played a role in somehow preserving, educating, or further enhancing the history of our great community. These could be people who serve on historical societies, people campaigning projects to keep/restore our community’s history, people with amazing collections that are keeping history, artifacts, and stories alive, educators who have gone above and beyond to share our history, and more.
To honor the efforts of these unsung heroes — Scheels, the Larks, and Bismarck Magazine have joined forces to recognize these extraordinary hidden hometown heroes in our local community.
On May 2nd, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorites. The top 6 will be recognized on the field at a Larks game this summer. Here are their stories:
