We sat down with trumpet extraordinaire Michael Cartwright, who will be joining us at the ballpark for 5 nights this summer!

WHO IS MICHAEL CARTWRIGHT?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\n
I am a man of the world. I\u2019m a person who is <\/span><\/span>constantly seeking adventure and new things to <\/span><\/span>a fault. I\u2019m always adding something to my quiver <\/span><\/span>of skills in life. I love music. I love the outdoors. <\/span><\/span>At the top of my bucket list is to attend a high-performance<\/span><\/span>\u00a0driving school and learn how to be <\/span><\/span>a race car driver. I\u2019d also like to learn how to be a <\/span><\/span>salsa dancer. The ultimate bucket list item of what <\/span><\/span>
I\u2019d like to do, though, is I want to see our Earth as a <\/span><\/span>globe in the palm of my hand from space. I want to <\/span><\/span>go to space just like everybody\u2019s doing these days.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT THIS SUMMER WITH THE LARKS?<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
This is a completely new realm of performance for me. I\u2019ve done musical theater, which is usually a rehearsed <\/span><\/span>style of doing things. I\u2019ve done live full performances. I\u2019ve done improv, I\u2019ve done recording sessions, but <\/span><\/span>with this whole sports game idea, mixed in with a little bit of comedy and my natural talents \u2014 it\u2019s really all <\/span><\/span>about igniting the audience. At the end of the season, I know I\u2019ll be like, \u2018Man, that was a blast.\u2018<\/span><\/span>

WHAT SHOULD LARKS FANS LOOK FORWARD TO WHEN THEY\u2019RE AT THE BALLPARK?<\/span><\/span><\/strong>
The freshness of somebody who\u2019s new. I\u2019m not your typical North Dakotan \u2014 I don\u2019t walk, talk or act like <\/span><\/span>your typical North Dakotan \u2014 so they should come ready to have some fun with me. I always like people <\/span><\/span>and this is perfect. I like people who throw the ball back, I like throwing you a conversation and you throw <\/span><\/span>some conversation back with me. I\u2019m looking for the audience to throw the ball back with me. Let\u2019s <\/span><\/span>play catch.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

WHAT IS YOUR MESSAGE TO LARKS FANS?<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
I\u2019m on a big journey from A to B and I\u2019m happy that the Larks have shown up somewhere on my journey. <\/span><\/span>And I\u2019m glad to be part of that with everyone else.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
