The Larks gave their fans a lot to cheer for on Mix and Match Monday after taking the W, 10-3 over Eau Claire.<\/p>\n
Bismarck only once in the ball game after the Express put up one of their three runs in the top of the first inning. After an RBI double from Aaron Mann (Drury University) in the bottom of the first and a three-run bottom of the second, the Larks never trailed again.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Larks saw a great outing from starting pitcher Garrett Yawn (Long Island – Brooklyn) after going seven complete innings on just 99 pitches, striking out eight Express and allowing only two earned runs. Bismarck\u2019s bullpen came into the ball game in the eighth and ninth and shut down the Express as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Will Chauffe (Pepperdine University) allowed no earned runs and struck one in the eighth, while Stephen Klenske (Palomar College) sealed the victory for the Larks in the ninth. Klenske allowed no earned runs and struck out the final batter on the <\/span>Metro Area Ambulance Fastest Pitch of the Game <\/b>at 91 mph.<\/span><\/p>\n Eau Claire starting pitcher Jack Brown (Minnesota State – Mankato) allowed four earned runs on seven hits after going only two full innings on the mound. The Express saw a solid outing out of Cory Ronan (University of Hawaii) allowing only one earned in two innings.<\/span><\/p>\n At the plate for the Larks, six batters finish with RBIs. Khalid Collymore (University of Montevallo) drove in Garrett Macias (CSU – San Bernardino) on a sacrifice fly ball in the third. That run was one of two on the inning after Bradlee Preap (Radford University) delivered an RBI single, scoring Jackson Beaman (University of Missouri). Preap ended the day with three RBIs on three hits. He drove in two runs in the second inning on a double after a well hit ball to the fence in right-center field and delivered the <\/span>Fetzer Electric Play of the Game<\/b> with a <\/span>Jeter-type <\/span><\/i>throw off his back foot in the seventh inning.<\/span><\/p>\n Macias delivered the only home run of the day,\u00a0 hitting a moonshot into left field that put the Larks up by five.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n AJ Barraza (CSU-San Bernardino) and Jake Hjelle (Minnesota-Crookston) delivered RBIs as well in the winning effort. The Larks saw notable performances from Beaman, who went two-for-three with a double, triple and three scored runs, and Spencer Sarringar (Northern State) who hit his first triple as a Lark in the eighth inning before scoring as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Larks have two more games at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark, home of Dakota Community Bank and Trust Field in the homestand, against the Mankato Moondogs.
