The Bismarck Larks fell short to the Rochester Honkers for the second time today, this time by a score of 6-2. Bobby Bones show co-host, Lunchbox was in attendance. He participated in a few on-field and signed autographs for fans. The Larks got on the board first in the fourth inning but it was to no avail as the Honkers responded to take the lead on runs in the 5th and 6th inning. The Larks hope to tie the series up tomorrow night in the final game.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe fight in the ninth has to be our identity moving forward coming into tomorrow. It\u2019s going to be tough, their going to try and close us out tomorrow, I know that. We just got to come ready to grind out ABs like we did in the ninth to bring the fight tomorrow night,\u201d Coach Sean Repay said.<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s Next: <\/b>The Larks and Honkers will finish the series tomorrow night, June 13 at 7:05 pm. The Larks will then hit the road to face off against Mankato for their second two game stint against the Moondogs this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

How it Happend:<\/b> The Larks got on the board first in the 4th inning when Alex Peterson doubled deep to right field with one out before he moved up to third on a ground ball. Ronnie McBride then hit a hard infield single to third base allowing Peterson to score for the first run of the game. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Honkers answered back in the fifth to take the lead. Aaron Simmons singled in the two runs with two outs to take the lead. The Honkers scored three more runs in the 6th inning after back-to-back singles to start the inning before a strikeout out for out number one. A one-out double into the left field gap scored two runs before a wild pitch scored the final run to make it 5-1.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Honkers then put up another insurance run in the eighth to make it 6-1. The Larks picked up some momentum in the bottom of the 9th and scored one run with two outs to make it 6-2. With second and third and the tying run in the on-deck circle the two-out rally finally ended and so did the game as the Larks fell 6-2. Tomorrow\u2019s game will determine if the Larks can halve the series at two games apiece. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
