Milwaukee Brewers 3B Casey McGehee (pronounced McGee) is having a great spring training in his competition to earn an opening day roster spot in Milwaukee. He’s batting .383 (18-for-47) in 20 spring contests. He has a double, five home runs, and 13 RBI. Only five players in all of baseball have more home runs than McGehee so far this spring.

Bill Hall is likely to be the starter at third base while Mike Lamb is also competing for a roster spot. Craig Counsell is another reserve infielder on the current roster that will make it more difficult for McGehee to receive a roster spot.

McGehee made his major league debut with the Chicago Cubs in September. He was claimed off waivers by the Brewers during the offseason. He played in the Northwoods League for the St. Cloud River Bats in 2001.
