Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks, members of the Northwoods League, have announced that right-handed pitcher Lenny Linsky will return to play for the Bucks in 2010.  Currently, Linsky is a sophomore at the University of Hawaii and is the 10th player to sign with the Bucks for the summer.

Last season for Waterloo, Linsky appeared in 18 games and started eight.  The hurler finished the season with an ERA of 5.03 and 31 strikeouts, pitching 53.2 innings. He held his opposing players to a batting average of .258.

Waterloo Manager Jason Nell is eager to see Linsky in the bullpen for the Bucks this summer.

“Depending on how he does with Hawaii, he has the opportunity to either be a match-up guy in key situations, or a one-time-through the line-up guy,” said Nell.  “He has to be able to command his secondary stuff in order for us to get guys out.  He should be a valuable piece in our bullpen.”

In 2009, the 6’1″, 205-pounder appeared in 12 games for the University of Hawaii all in relief, with a 1-1 record and one save.  Linsky had an ERA of 8.47 with 15 strikeouts in 17 innings pitched.

A 2008 graduate from Peninsula High School in Rolling Hills Estates, California, Linsky earned three letters in baseball and received Most Outstanding Player as well as the captain’s award his senior season.  Linsky was also ranked as the 146th top draft prospect out of California by Baseball America.

The Bucks will open the 2010 season at home on Wednesday, June 2 at 6:35 pm versus Wisconsin Rapids.  Season tickets and single-game tickets are currently on sale.  Fans are encouraged to stay in touch with the Bucks in the off-season by utilizing their website at www.waterloobucks.com.
