(Rochester, MN)The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today the signing of Stillwater, Minnesota native Mike Strong, a left-handed pitcher from Oklahoma State University, for the 2010 season.

Mike StrongStrong, a 6-foot, 185-pound junior is currently 3-0 with a 2.62 ERA for OSU. He has pitched 24.0 innings, allowing only 7 runs, striking out 29 and holding opponents to a .221 batting average against. Strong has been used in relief but has seen 3 starts in his 7 total appearances.

Strong began his collegiate career at Iowa Western CC in Council Bluffs, IA. He was heavily recruited by Arkansas, Missouri, NC State, Kansas State and Auburn before choosing Oklahoma State. Strong graduated from Stillwater High School where he finished his senior season 6-1 with a 1.07 ERA with 69 strikeouts in 47 innings pitched.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys (15-7) open up Big 12 Conference play this weekend when Nebraska (12-11) visits Stillwater, Oklahoma for a 3-game set starting Friday night.

The Rochester Honkers 17th season begins on June 2nd when they travel to Mankato, Minnesota for a 7:05pm start. Their home opener is Thursday, June 3rd against Mankato at Mayo Field starting at 7:05pm. Season Tickets, Bonus Books, Suites and Patios are now available.
