Jordan Smith, a Willmar High School graduate, is currently leading the NWL in RBI with 18. Smith is having a great year the Willmar Stingers who are one of the newest additions to the NWL along with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. The St. Cloud State outfielder is hitting .431 with 11 walks and two homeruns.

Smith has had a record setting 2010 for the Stingers and St. Cloud Huskies. His homerun on Friday against Thunder Bay was the 1st at the ‘Bee Hive’ in Willmar history. During his freshman season at St. Cloud State, Smith was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Freshman of the Year and helped lead his team to the D-II Central Regional in Farmington, NM. He was also named to the Central Region Rawlings Gold Glove Team and was named to the 2010 Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association Division II All-American Baseball Team as a third team selection.

Smith started all 58 games in his freshman year for the Huskies and hit .457 which was the second highest single-season batting average in school history and ranked in the top ten nationally.
