Utility Man Brown and Outfielder Holt Headed to La Crosse

The La Crosse Loggers Baseball Club added a pair of big bats from a national powerhouse when they officially announced the signings of sophomores Trevor Brown and Dennis Holt from UCLA.

Trevor Brown is one of UCLA most versatile position players with the ability to catch as well as play first base, third base and shortstop. Brown will be looking to build upon a successful freshman campaign in which he hit .300 for the Bruins, who lost to South Carolina in the 2010 College World Series finale, over 60 at-bats with one home run and nine RBI’s. Brown also enjoyed a very successful summer in 2010, earning first-team All-West Coast League honors after hitting .333 with 16 RBI’s in helping the Wenatchee Apple Sox to a West Coast League title.

Like his teammate Trevor Brown, Dennis Holt also made a big impact as a freshman for UCLA in 2010. Holt, a left handed hitting outfielder, was the Bruins top pinch-hitter going 6-for-9 off the bench tying for the team lead in pinch hits. Holt, a Yorba Linda, Calif. native, also enjoyed a very productive summer in the West Coast Collegiate League as he hit .288 with two home runs and 11 RBI’s and totaled a .429 on-base percentage for the Walla Walla Sweets.
