The Thunder Bay Border Cats are proud to announce their first signings of the 2011 Northwoods League season as pitchers Zak Miller and Brad Delatte will return from the 2010 club.

Miller, a 6’3″, 200 pound righthander, was tied for second in the league with seven wins last season and was one of six Border Cats selected for the Northwoods League All Star Game. Miller pitched in 28 games, including one start, and compiled a 7-2 record with a 3.64 earned run average. The native of White Rock, BC struck out 30 batters in 52 innings pitched and was one of 10 Canadian born players on the Cats roster last season. Miller, who was a redshirt last year at the University of New Mexico, is currently a freshman at Yavapai College in Prescott, AZ. He has signed a letter of intent to attend Arizona State University in the fall of 2011.

Delatte worked exclusively out of the bullpen last season, where he appeared in 30 games. The lefthander from St. Amant, LA had a 1-1 record with three saves and a 2.43 ERA. The 6’0″, 180 pound southpaw had 30 strikeouts in 40.2 innings pitched. Delatte is currently a junior at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA.
