The Bombers added a power-hitting outfielder to their lineup today, signing Cory Farris of Cumberland University for the 2011 season.

In his junior season with the Bulldogs, Farris has hit for power: he is batting an impressive .277, has belted 11 home runs, recorded 43 RBIs, and boasts a .531 slugging percentage. Farris spent his freshman and sophomore years playing for the University of Kentucky where he hit .310 before transferring over the summer. Prior to his college career, he was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 43rd round of the 2008 draft.

“Cory can be a guy that hits in the middle of our lineup and knock in a lot of runs. He has posted solid number this spring and we hope he will continue that this summer with us.” said Bombers assistant Coach Thad Frame.
