The Wisconsin Woodchucks have announced Field Manager Guido Aspeitia’s coaching staff for the 2011 season. Assistant coaches include Lynchburg College’s Eric Supplee, Virginia Commonwealth University’s CJ Rhodes, and UW- Milwaukee’s Ben Long.

Supplee will serve as the team’s pitching coach, after spending the 2011 season as Lynchburg College’s pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. Throughout his four-year coaching career, Supplee has made stops with the Covington Lumberjacks, the Longwood University Lancers, the Lehigh Valley Catz, and the Millersville University Marauders.

Currently enrolled in Lynchburg’s M.Ed. Program in Elementary Education Curriculum and Instruction, Supplee played four seasons at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., while playing summer ball for the Luray Wranglers and the Woodstock River Bandits. He finished his senior season at Marist in 2007 with a 5-3 record, and a team-leading 3.35 ERA in 86.0 innings pitched.

CJ Rhodes will serve as the Woodchucks’ hitting coach, after spending his first season in the same position with the VCU Rams. Rhodes joined the Rams’ staff after playing four years at Virginia Wesleyan College, where he earned all-conference and all-region accolades his junior and senior years. Playing catcher, Rhodes’ career numbers included a .331 batting average, 48 doubles, 14 home runs and 125 RBI.

Ben Long, a former Woodchucks catcher and current UW-Milwaukee assistant, will also serve as an assistant coach. Long concluded his playing career following the 2010 spring, where he spent two years at the former Madison Area Technical College, and three years at UW-Milwaukee. Long finished his senior season with a .342 batting average, eight home runs, and a team-high 55 RBI, on his way to making the Horizon League All-Tournament team.
