Monday's Northwoods League Player of the Night is Thunder Bay first basemen Sal Taormina, a sophomore from Kean. The Border Cats scored four runs in each of the first two innings and coasted to a 10-5 rout of Eau Claire.
Taormina went 3-4 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs with a run. Taormina is now hitting .320 on the season with 13 RBIs and nine runs with six doubles and a .440 slugging percentage.
