Sunday's pitcher of the night is Ryan Smoyer, a right-hander for the Kalamazoo Growlers. A freshman from Notre Dame, Smoyer was dominant over eight innings and shut down the defending champion Madison Mallards in a 4-1 victory.
Smoyer went eight innings and gave up just one run on two hits. He didn't walk anybody and struck out five while facing just four batters over the minimum. He is now a perfect 5-0 on the season with a 2.36 ERA over eight appearances and 45 2/3 innings.
