Utility man Daniel Leckie earned the first Nortwooods League Position Player of the Night award in 2016 with his play on Tuesday. The Suffield, Connecticut native and Lafayette College freshman played third base and hit 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and two RBIs as he helped the Kalamazoo Growlers begin their season with a 4-2 victory over the Lakeshore Chinooks.
The Growlers and Chinooks will conclude their two-game series tomorrow at 11:05 a.m. at Homer Stryker Field.
