The Mankato MoonDogs recorded 17 runs on 18 hits to defeat the Rochester Honkers 17-0 on Thursday night in Game 1 of a doubleheader followed by a 9-5 loss. Mankato third baseman Jake Shepski (Notre Dame) hit 4-for-5 with two walks, five runs scored and a pair of RBI in the two games. The Lockport, Illinois native also connected on a two-run home run for his second homer of the season in the first game.. Through nine games played, Shepski has a batting average of .556 so far this season.

Shepski and Mankato will host the Eau Claire Express on Friday night at 7:05 from Franklin Rogers Park.
