The Kalamazoo Growlers defeated the Rochester Honkers 3-1 on Saturday night in a pitcher's duel. Kalamazoo starter Jacob Piechota (Western Michigan) allowed one run on seven hits and a walk with one strikeout over eight innings of work to earn his first win of the season in two starts, as he was named Saturday's Northwoods League Pitcher of the Night.
Kalamazoo will host Rochester on Sunday at 3:05 p.m.
