The Madison Mallards continued their winning ways on Monday night with their eighth consecutive victory in a win against the Willmar Stingers. Madison remains 1 1/2 games behind Wisconsin Rapids in the second-half standings in the South Division.

Kalamazoo 5, Rockford 1

The Kalamazoo Growlers took down the Rockford Rivets 5-1 on the road Monday night. Kalamazoo scored the first two runs with one in the first and third innings. Rockford scored its lone run in the third inning to cut the lead to one. The Growlers added a few insurance runs with two in the sixth and one more in the seventh to make it a four-run game. Kalamazoo lefty Blaine Fisher (Pittsburg State) went the distance with a complete game and allowed one run on eight hits and zero walks with three strikeouts to pick up the victory.

Lakeshore 8, Battle Creek 4

The Battle Creek Bombers scored three runs in the top of the first inning, but the Lakeshore Chinooks scored eight consecutive runs in an 8-4 home victory. Battle Creek hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning, as Dean Miller (Riverside City College) connected on a two-run homer, which was followed by a solo shot from Christian Helsel (Penn State). Lakeshore's first baseman Matt Johnson (South Dakota State) finished 2-for-3 with two RBI, two runs scored and was hit by a pitch. Chinooks' Dan Twitty (St. Leo) threw five scoreless innings and allowed three hits and one walk with six strikeouts to pick up the win.

Eau Claire 10, Duluth 2

The Eau Claire Express dominated the Duluth Huskies by a score of 10-2 at home on Monday night. Eau Claire's star catcher Daulton Varsho (UW-Milwaukee) had another big game for the Express. He finished 3-for-3 at the plate, walked twice, recorded three RBI and two runs scored, including his 14th home run of the season, which is tied for the Northwoods League lead. Designated hitter Austin Guzzo (Iowa) hit 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. On the mound, Eau Claire's starter Caleb Boushley (UW-La Crosse) threw five innings and allowed one unearned run on four hits and one walk with two strikeouts for the victory.

Wisconsin Rapids 6, Wisconsin 5

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters lost their lead late and scored a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat the Wisconsin Woodchucks 6-5 at home. Wisconsin Rapids held a 5-3 advantage going into the eighth inning, and Wisconsin tied the game with a pair of runs in the top of the eighth. The Rafters answered right back in the bottom half of the inning, as Ben Fisher (Eastern Kentucky) singled to score a run and gave Wisconsin Rapids the lead. Rightfielder Brett Thompson (Hope International) finished 3-for-4 with one run scored.

Madison 5, Willmar 4

The Madison Mallards scored two runs in the eighth to beat the Willmar Stingers 5-4 at home on Monday night. Willmar had a 4-3 lead going into the bottom of the eighth, and the Mallards regained the lead with a two-run eighth. Madison had balanced production throughout the lineup, as the Mallards finished with nine hits, and eight batters recorded at least one hit. Shortstop Nico Hoerner (Stanford) was the lone Mallard to have multiple hits, as he finished 2-for-4 with one run scored. Madison's Alex Smith (North Florida) threw 3 1/3 scoreless relief innings and allowed no hits and two walks with a strikeout to earn the win.

Mankato 4, La Crosse 2

The Mankato MoonDogs doubled up the La Crosse Loggers 4-2 on the road Monday night. Mankato's leftfielder Jake Shepski (Notre Dame) finished 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run scored and a walk, including his 11th home run of the season. MoonDogs' starting pitcher Kody Rock (Mayville State) threw seven innings and gave up one run on four hits and five walks with one strikeout to pick up the win. Brian Gadsby (UCLA) threw the final two innings and allowed one run for the save.

Kenosha 11, Green Bay 4

The Green Bay Bullfrogs scored the first two runs of the game, and the Kenosha Kingfish scored 11 straight runs in an 11-4 home win. Kenosha connected on three home runs in the game and finished with 14 hits. Kingfish designated hitter Pat McInerney (University of Illinois) finished 3-for-5 at the plate with four RBI and one home runs for his second of the season. Catcher Pete Schuler (Kent State) hit 3-for-4 with four runs scored, two RBI and one walk, including his fifth homer. Rightfielder Dylan Rosa (Kent State) finished 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run scored and his fourth homer.

Waterloo 7, Thunder Bay 6

The Waterloo Bucks held a 7-1 advantage and held on to beat the Thunder Bay Border Cats 7-6 at home on Monday night. With Waterloo ahead by six runs after seven innings, Thunder Bay scored a run in the eighth and rallied for four in the ninth, which was not enough to beat the Bucks. Waterloo's Patrick Boyle (Missouri Baptist) threw seven innings and gave up one run on four hits and one walk with five strikeouts for the win. Centerfielder Alex Boxwell (Minnesota) hit 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored, including a home run, which was his third of the season.

St. Cloud 2, Rochester 1

The St. Cloud Rox defeated the Rochester Honkers 2-1 on the road on Monday night. After five scoreless innings, Rochester scored the first run of the game in the sixth. St. Cloud answered with one run in the top of the seventh and added another in the ninth inning to take the lead. St. Cloud's Robbie Palkert (University of Nebraska) threw six innings and allowed one run on three hits and one walk with five strikeouts in a no decision. Rochester's Alex Fagalde (UC Riverside) also had a no decision, as he threw six scoreless innings and gave up four hits and one walk with seven strikeouts.
