The St. Cloud Rox continue to hold a game lead in the overall North Division Standings with a win over Waterloo. Rockford and Wisconsin Rapids both won tonight as the Rivets hold a half game lead over the Rafters for first place in the second half South Division Standings. Willmar snapped their winning streak to Duluth which gives the Eau Claire Express a one game lead in the second half North Division Standings. 

Waterloo 0, St. Cloud 5

The St. Cloud Rox used four pitchers and shutout the Waterloo Bucks on two hits as they won the game 5-0. Daniel Schneemann (BYU) led off the Rox half of the fourth with a home run. Brendan Illies (UNC) then singled in a run in the sixth as St. Cloud got three more in the eighth from an RBI triple and single. Robbie Palkert (Nebraska) threw the first five scoreless for the Rox and only allowed two hits and one walk while striking out six as three relief pitchers finished the game.

Kenosha 1, Wisconsin Rapids 2

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters broke a tie in the seventh and never looked back as they defeated the Kenosha Kingfish 2-1. Kenosha scored Mike Madej (Purdue) from a sac flyout in the top of the first. Dustin Woodcock (SIUE) then homered to tie it up for Rapids in the second. Jack Eagan (Madison College) threw five for Rapids and only allowed the one run on three hits and one walk while striking out five. The Rafters took the lead in the seventh from an RBI double by Bryson Stott (UNLV). Mason McReaken (SIUE) threw the next three for Rapids as he earned the win and Layne Henderson (Azusa Pacific) converted his 17th save.

La Crosse 1, Mankato 3

The Mankato MoonDogs scored in the opening inning and middle innings as they defeated the La Crosse Loggers 3-1. Mankato scored right away in the bottom half from an RBI ground out. La Crosse tied it in the fourth from an RBI single, but Mankato took the lead again from a home run by Ethan Valdez (Nicholls State). Daniel Amaral (UCLA) connected on an RBI single in the fifth which would go onto be the final score. Andrew Fisher (Illinois) started for Mankato and threw seven and only allowed the one run as Naithen Dewsnap (Cal State Bakersfield) converted his 10th save.

Lakeshore 4, Madison 9

The Madison Mallards scored early and often and defeated the Lakeshore Chinooks 9-4 tonight. Madison scored a pair in the bottom of the first which started from Tommy Bullock driving in one from a double. Cade Bunnell (Madison College) then went deep in the second to add another for the Mallards. Lakeshore added their first in the fourth when Jack Dunn (Northwestern) singled in a run, but the Mallards got another from an RBI ground out. The Chinooks got another in the fifth from an RBI ground out and then again in the RBI single. The Mallards though got a pair in the bottom of the sixth, but Lakeshore got another in the seventh. Doran Turchin (Illinois) scored on an RBI single in the bottom half of the seventh and two more in the eighth which would go onto be the final score.

Green Bay 1, Rockford 10

The Rockford Rivets allowed one right away and then went on to score ten and defeat the Green Bay Bullfrogs 10-1. Green Bay got on the board from Kyle Benyo (Youngstown State) singling in a run. Brynn Martinez (Quincy) tied it for the Rivets in the second from an RBI single and took the lead with three in the third. Rockford put up another two in the fourth from an RBI ground out and then a double that drove in one from Zach Rheams (Texas Tech). The Rivets got one in the fifth from an error and then another three in the eighth including an RBI single by Martinez. Brad Littleton (Indiana) threw the first six for Rockford and only allowed the one run as the Rivets threw three relievers to end the game.

Thunder Bay 2, Eau Claire 9

The Eau Claire Express only gave up two in the eighth after Ryan Zimmerman (St. Thomas) threw six scoreless in their 9-2 win over the Thunder Bay Borders Cats. The Express put up a pair in the bottom of the first from back-to-back sac flyouts. Eau Claire put up two more in the next inning from an RBI single by Josh Norlin (Dallas Baptist) and RBI double from Zach Ashford (Fresno State). The Express went up seven then in the third as Zimmerman finished his night only allowing three hits on one walk while striking out nine. Kyle Marinconz (Cal Poly) hit a solo shot for Eau Claire in the sixth and got another from a sac flyout in the next inning. The Border Cats got on the board in the eighth from a sac flyout and an RBI single by Kevin Biondic (Maryland), but it wasn’t enough to get back into the game.

Duluth 11, Willmar 10 (13 Innings) 

The Duluth Huskies needed 13 innings to defeat the Willmar Stingers 11-0. Both teams jumped on the board right away in the first as the Huskies got two which started from an RBI single by Kyle Hubbuch (North Alabama) and Danny Rodriguez (Bethune Cookman) hit one out to add to a three-run inning for Willmar. Duluth took the lead with three in the third from a two-run double and RBI single. Chase Strumpf (UCLA) then went deep for Duluth in the fifth, but Caleb Ledbetter (Montevallo) hit one of his own for the Stingers in the sixth. Willmar came within one in the eighth, but the Huskies added two more in the top of the ninth. Finally Willmar tied it up in the bottom of the ninth from an RBI single by Marcus Still (New Mexico State), RBI double by Rodriguez and Ledbetter getting hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Both teams then got a pair of runs in the tenth. Duluth finally got an RBI doubble by Isaac Collins (Creighton) in the 13th which eventually went on to be the final score. 

Wisconsin 1, Kalamazoo 4

The Kalamazoo Growlers scored runs late and defeated the Wisconsin Woodchucks 4-1. The game went scoreless until Anthony Rios (Lewis) scored on a balk to put the Growlers on the board. The Chucks evened the game in the sixth from a sac flyout, but Kalamazoo went ahead by two in the bottom half from an RBI single by Stephen Dubb (USC) and another from a single on an error. The Growlers got one more in the eighth on a wild pitch which ended up being the final score. Dakota Roberts (Kalamazoo CC) started for the Growlers and threw the first seven as he only allowed the one run and Andrew Huff (Middle Tennessee State) converted his first save of the season.

Fond du Lac 1, Battle Creek 3

The Battle Creek Bombers went ahead in the bottom of the seventh and defeated the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 3-1. Andrew Click threw seven innings in his start for Battle Creek and only gave up one unearned run. Zack Kesterson (Arkansas Tech) threw only two scoreless as he made way for the Spiders’ bullpen. The Bombers got their first in the sixth from an error and Fondy got one of their own from an error. Tom Stoffel (Virginia Tech) put Battle Creek ahead in the bottom of the seventh from an RBI single and then scored the eventual final score from an RBI double.
