Nick Mears (Sacramento City) earned pitcher of the night after throwing three scoreless innings and striking out nine batters for the Stingers. He came in the fifth with two on and struck out the next three batters. Mears managed to strike out the side in each of the next two innings, helping Willmar stay in the game. He allowed just three hits along with the nine punch outs.
