Close Games Collecting Doubles, RBI, and Home Runs in the Northwoods League

The Rockford Rivets and Kokomo Jackrabbits started off the night with the Rivets defeating the Jackrabbits during a close battle. The final score was a nail-bitting 5-4. A solid pitching performance was Jimmy Burnette (Illinois) from the Rivets who gave up four runs and six strike outs during his seven innings at the mound. The St. Cloud Rox shut out the Bismarck with an ending game score of 6-0. The Rox had a total of six runs and ten hits throughout the game. 

Green Bay Booyah 7, Lakeshore Chinooks 3

The Green Bay Booyah dominated the Lakeshore Chinooks giving a solid performance and final score of 7-3. The Booyah had a total of seven runs and seven hits during tonights game. Brady West (North Greenville) and Blaise Maris (Florida Tech) both hit two RBI for Green Bay. Chinooks Jake Thompson (Kentucky) had two doubles and one RBI. Logan Lee (Northwood) was the winning pitcher of the game who pitched two innings with no runs and four strike outs. Booyah Jacob Paulishak (Millersville) was the saving pitcher of the game pitching three innings strong giving up no runs, two hits, and two strike outs. The losing pitcher was Lakeshore’s Trenton Wallace (Iowa). 

Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 7, Wisconsin Woodchucks 6

The Wisconsin Woodchucks lost to the the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders with an ending game score of 7-6. The Spiders pulled through in the ninth inning scoring five runs to sneak in and steal the win over the Woodchucks. Adam Frank (FDU), TJ Reeves (University of Alabama), and Cameron Swanger (University of Missouri) hit one home run each for Wisconsin. Swanger also had three RBI. Fond du Lac’s Tim Elko (Mississippi) scored two RBI and one double. The winning pitcher was Spiders Kyle Hall (Indiana Wesleyan) who pitched two innings with four runs and two strike outs. The saving pitcher was Max Cioffi (Mississippi) while the losing pitcher was Woodchucks Tom Ambrosino (Adelphi University). 

Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 6, Madison Mallards 5

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters rallied for the win over the Madison Mallards with a final score 6-5. The Rafters pulled it together scoring two runs during the ninth inning to capture and steal the win over the Mallards. Wisconsin’s Davion Downey (Baylor) and Jaylen Guy (Liberty University) both had one home run each. Downey also hit two RBI and Guy received one double. The games winning pitcher was Izzy Fuentes (Faulkner) who pitched three innings giving up four runs and striking out three. The losing pitcher was Madison’s Aidan Tyrell (Notre Dame). 

Thunder Bay Border Cats 7, Duluth Huskies 3

The Thunder Bay Border Cats dominated the Duluth Huskies with an ending game score of 7-3. The Border Cats had a total of seven runs and seven hits throughout the game. Thunder Bay’s Anthony Galati (Radford University (VA)) had two RBI during tonights game. Huskies Preston Hartsell (USC) had one double. The winning pitcher was Austin Eggleston (Friends University (KS)) who pitched five innings with two runs and five strike outs. The saving pitcher was Jordan Jackson (University of Nevada-Reno) while the losing pitcher was Duluth Schuyler Hill (Vanguard). 

Battle Creek Bombers 7, Kenosha Kingfish 10

The Battle Creek Bombers were defeated by the Kenosha Kingfish with a final score of 10-7. The Kingfish scored six runs during the bottom of the sixth inning to capture the win over the Bombers. John Malcom (Vanderbilt) had two RBI and one double for Battle Creek. Kenosha’s Luke Stephenson (Xavier University) received four RBI and one double throughout tonights game. The winning pitcher was Jonah Landowski (Marian University) with one run and one hit during his one inning of work. The saving pitcher was Jacob DeLabio (Carthage College) who pitched two innings giving up no runs and no hits. The losing pitcher was Battle Creeks Jordan Rhodes (McDaniel). 

Rockford Rivets 5, Kokomo Jackrabbits 4

The Rockford Rivets defeated the Kokomo Jackrabbits with a final score 0f 5-4. The Jackrabbits rallied during the seventh inning scoring three runs but it was not enough to steal the win over the Rivets. Tom Josten (Central Florida) hit one home run along with two RBI for Rockford. Kokomo’s Austin Elder (St. Mary (CA)) had two RBI. The winning pitcher was Jimmy Burnette (Illinois) who pitched a solid seven innings with four runs and six strike outs for the Rivets. Tanner Propst (Louisiana Tech) was the saving pitcher for Rockford while the losing pitcher was Jackrabbits Parker Sisovsky (Kalamazoo College). 

Rochester Honkers 6, Mankato MoonDogs 2

The Rochester Honkers beat the Mankato MoonDogs with a final score of 6-2. The Honkers had a total of six runs and thirteen hits throughout the game. Michael Perez (UCLA) hit one home run along with one RBI for Mankato. Rochester’s Austin Schell (Golden West College) received three RBI and one double. The winning pitcher was Marty Tolson Jr. (Maryland-Eastern Shore) who gave up one run, five hits, and two strike outs during his five innings at the mound. The losing pitcher was MoonDogs Jaxon Passino (Kansas State). 

Waterloo Bucks 7, Eau Claire Express 2

The Eau Claire Express were defeated by the Waterloo Bucks with an ending game score of 7-2. The Bucks came together during the top of the ninth innings scoring four runs to end the game with a solid lead. Mike Nyisztor (Rutgers) hit one home run and three RBI for Waterloo. Another great performance was by his teammate, Kevin Blum (Rutgers), with one double hit and two RBI. The winning pitcher was Bucks Peyton Fuller (Oregon) who pitched five innings giving up two runs and five strike outs. The saving pitcher was Jimmy Smiley (Columbia) while the losing pitcher was Eau Claire’s Colt Mink (Flagler). 

La Crosse Loggers 8, Willmar Stingers 4

The La Crosse Loggers had an impressive top of the third innings scoring six runs during tonights game to defeat the Willmar Stingers. The final score was 8-4. Stingers Riley Johnson (Augsustana University) and Luke Bowman (St. Cloud State) both hit two RBI. La Crosse’s Matthew Stinebiser (Duke) had a strong performance with three RBI and one double. The winning pitcher was Matthew Richey (Bradley) with two runs and three strike outs during his one inning of work. The losing pitcher was Willmar’s Trevor Divinski (Minnesota State-Mankato). 

Bismarck Larks 0, St. Cloud Rox 6

The St. Cloud Rox dominated and shut out the Bismarck Larks with a final score of 6-0. The Rox had a total of six runs and ten hits throughout the game. Freddy Achecar (Georgetown University) hit one home run along with three RBI for the Rox. St. Cloud’s Trevor Koenig (St. Cloud State) was the winning pitcher of the game who pitched seven innings giving up no runs, three hits, and striking out ten. The losing pitcher Bismarck’s Matthew Boynton (Tallahassee CC) who pitched a solid six innings. 

Traverse City Pit Spitters 1, Kalamazoo Growlers 2

The Kalamazoo Growlers pulled through and won against the Traverse City Pit Spitters during the tenth inning. The Growlers had a total of two runs and ten hits throughout the game. Kalamazoo’s Shea Kramer (University of Utah) and Hunter Thorn (Purdue Northwest) both hit one RBI each. The winning pitcher was Eamon Horwedel (Ohio University) who gave up no runs and no hits during his two innings at the mound. The losing pitcher was Traverse Cities Joe Pace (University of Michigan).
