The Bismarck Larks looked like they might lose their first game of the season on Friday night, as they entered the top of the ninth inning trailing the Mandan Flickertails 5-0. However, they would string together five runs on four hits to tie the game before taking the lead in the tenth on a two-out wild pitch that allowed Noah Fisher (Northern Kentucky) to score.

Tanner Froehlich (Seton Hill) led the Larks offense, going 3-5 with one RBI. Brant Schaffitzel (Drury) went 0-3, but also drew three walks and scored one run. Chase Adkison (Boise State) went 1-5 with two runs batted in for Bismarck. On the mound, Zach Reeder (Baker University) came on in the fifth and would throw three innings, scattering three hits and allowing no runs while recording four strikeouts. Blake Gallagher (Minot State) would pick up his first win of the season after throwing two shutout innings, allowing one hit and recording one strikeout.

The Flickertails, who are now 1-3 on the season, were led by Jack Krause (Bowling Green), who went 3-5 at the plate with two RBI and one stolen base. Ben Rushing (Central Florida) was 2-5 on the night, with two RBI and one double. Ben Schoneman (Colorado School of Mines) turned in a masterful performance on the mound, lasting five shutout innings while scattering two hits and striking out eight batters.

The Flickertails will have to bounce back quickly, as they have a doubleheader against the Bismarck Bull Moose Saturday. Game one starts at 12:35 p.m., with game two set for 7:05 p.m.
